Our story as told by our dog

As a loyal and furry companion, I have been a firsthand witness to the beautiful love story of my favorite humans Prabhat and Tara, and I am honored to retell it here. It all began with a simple swipe to the right on Hinge and a few exchanged emojis. Prabhat asked Tara if she was as good at pool as she claimed on her profile, and their competitiveness was born, which I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of, except for that time they competed to see who could run backward up a hill faster, which was confusing.

Their first date was for happy-hour drinks, during which they discovered their mutual love for travel, outdoor exploration, all sorts of music/concerts, and sports. They even bonded over their passion for their local NBA teams, the Warriors and Celtics, a passion that would often result in me having to wear the winning team's jersey when they played each other. Eventually, Prabhat managed to convert Tara into a New England Patriots and Manchester United fan, showing that love does take compromise

Fast forward to their third date, where I finally got to meet Tara. It was a beautiful evening, and we all took a sunset walk at Crissy Field. I could sense the special connection they shared, and I knew that this was just the beginning of something beautiful (and love at first sight for me too). From that day on, Tara always gifted me new bandanas for every season and every mood, which I cherish as they really bring out my eyes.

And so the dynamic trio was born. I loved our adventures together, whether it be our epic weekend-long city walks, hikes around the Bay, or competitive dates - bowling, darts, basketball, tennis, and pop-a-shot. They enjoy having fun and are not afraid to be silly or goofy around each other. I love their carefree spirit and their ability to create joy and laughter in even the simplest of moments (and that they always included me in all their activities πŸ˜€ ).

It didn't take long before they also introduced each other to their closest friends and family, and we all started to feel like one big tight-knit group. Soon, we embarked on countless trips together around the Bay Area, up to Lake Tahoe (my favorite), Oregon, Rhode Island (where Prabhat grew up), and New York. They even traveled to Canada and India, where they spent time with extended family members, including grandparents (unfortunately I couldn't make those trips because I did not have a passport at the time, but I have since applied for one πŸ™ƒ). I loved being a part of all these journeys, and I knew that their love was only getting stronger with each passing day.

Then, on June 11, 2022, Prabhat popped the question to Tara at our favorite spot to walk at Crissy Field. I remember my dad getting on both his knees and doing an awkward shoulder touch and saying "Honey" before crying, and mom putting both her hands out - I was slightly confused at first, but they finally figured it out. Tara said yes, and then Prabhat surprised her by having their parents and siblings at our San Francisco apartment. We all celebrated that weekend, surrounded by friends and family - although at times I thought the party was for me too.

Today, we stand as one, and I am so happy to have them both as my family. They are my home, and I can't wait to celebrate this exciting new chapter and to PAW-TY with all of you in September!
